Queenslander travels 1600km south to dominate Dorper, White Dorper rings

A four-day journey from Queensland to Melbourne paid off for a Dorper and White Dorper breeder who showed her sheep at the Melbourne Royal Show for the first time.

Eisentrager Dorper and White Dorper stud principal Wendy Eisentrager, Warwick, Qld, bought a team of 13 Dorpers and three White Dorpers 1600 kilometres south to the show and won both champion ram and ewe in both breeds.

And it was the ewes of both breeds that collected their respective supreme ribbons.

Ms Eisentrager said she had always wanted to come to Melbourne.

“I’ve heard a lot about the show and it’s been fantastic so far, the people here are so lovely,” she said.
