Big classes in the White Dorper ring kept judge Nick Pagett busy working his way through the excellent sheep being displayed.
“I like a sheep with a good barrel, it is what sets the Dorper apart from other breeds,” Mr Pagett said as he awarded the grand champion ram the supreme exhibit for the breed.
Mr Pagett, from Winrae Dorper stud, Canowindra, NSW, thought the supreme exhibit paraded by Marius Loots, Prieska Dorpers, Peak Hill, NSW, was worthy of the title for its strong masculine head, a strong barrel and a complete finish.
“He is the best balanced ram with heaps of meat and barrel,” he said.
“It is an important function of the Dorper breed as it gives them enormous capacity.”
