NSW lamb producers travelling north for prime White Dorper rams

Lamb producers from New South Wales are venturing as far north as St George in search of quality rams to enhance their breeding herds.

Chelsee Mason and Angus Seekamp of Masseeh Pastoral Company, based in Broken Hill, NSW, recently made a 12-hour journey to St George, Queensland, to secure 16 rams and one ewe at an average price of $2196.

They attended the 16th annual DSSA Queensland multi-vendor Dorper and White Dorper sale, held at the St George Showgrounds on July 30.

Ms Mason said the family operated from their home block, Woolcunda Station, which had been in Angus’ family since 1918.
